Jukung Lim, piano
Jukung Lim was born in South Korea and studied piano at Hanyang University in Seoul, where she received a scholarship during her studies. She later continued her musical education in Germany, completing her Master’s degree at the Hochschule für Musik Detmold, where she studied with Hartmut Schneider. She is currently pursuing the Examen (Solistische Ausbildung) programme at the Musikhochschule Münster under the guidance of Peter von Wienhardt.
Jukung Lim has received prizes at several international and domestic competitions, including the Hanyang University Piano Competition, Nanpa Music Competition, and the Royal Maas International Music Competition. She has explored a wide repertoire spanning from the Baroque to the Romantic periods, recording and performing works by Scarlatti, Haydn, Liszt, Chopin, and Rachmaninoff. Her performances are noted for their delicate tone, expressive depth, and the ability to highlight the distinct characteristics of each era while maintaining her own artistic voice.
Actively performing in both South Korea and Germany, Jukung Lim continues to develop her skills as a solo pianist. She is committed to delivering performances that combine technical precision with emotional nuance, offering audiences a rich and immersive musical experience. With a keen sensitivity to touch, tone, and stylistic interpretation, she pursues ongoing exploration and interpretation in her musical journey.
