Concert Pianist, Petrof Global Artist, KNS Classical Artist, and Member of Yehudi Menuhin Live Music Now, is a Chinese pianist who has been praised as a “New Jewel of International Music” (Empordà News).

Schuyi Wang is a rising star in the classical music world, renowned for her extraordinary accomplishments as a pianist. At the age of 16, she became the only Chinese finalist to win First Prize at the Anton Rubinstein International Piano Competition in Düsseldorf, Germany. Since then, she has received over 30 awards in both national and international piano competitions, many of which are recognised by prestigious organisations such as the Argerich Foundation (AAF), the European Union of Music Competitions for Youth (EMCY), and the World Federation of International Music Competitions (WFIMC).

In the past year alone, Schuyi has claimed top prizes in several competitions, including the Victory Award at the Carles & Sofia International Piano Competition in Spain, First Prize and the Best Romantic Award at the WPTA International Piano Competition in Spain, and a Special Award at the Vladimir Krainev International Piano Competition in Switzerland. In addition, she signed with KNS Classical and released her debut solo album, Odyssey, featuring Chopin’s Études Op. 10 and Schumann’s Carnaval. The album launch took place at the Yangtze River Concert Hall in September 2024 and received extensive media coverage.

Schuyi’s album also earned her the prestigious Global Music Award, making her one of the youngest recipients of this influential recognition in recent years. This accolade highlights her remarkable contributions to the international music scene at the age of 20.

Throughout her career, Schuyi has demonstrated outstanding performance skills, achieving first prizes and special awards in numerous competitions, including the Mendelssohn International Piano Competition in Germany, the GOCAA International Piano Competition, the Kingsburg International Piano Competition, and the Canadian Steinway Piano Competition. She has also received notable awards at the 10th Slobozhanska Fantasia International Piano Competition in Ukraine, the International Geilenkirchen Piano Competition in Germany, and Second Prize at the Villafranca International Piano Competition in Italy.

Schuyi has collaborated with various orchestras, including the Liaoning Symphony Orchestra, the Northeast University Symphony Orchestra, the Master Orchestra, and the Kyiv Symphony Orchestra. Her performances have taken her to stages across China, Germany, Italy, Bulgaria, Spain, and Switzerland.

She has also been invited to perform at major events, such as the 60th charity gala hosted by the renowned Spanish tenor José Carreras, which was broadcast by MDR in Germany.

Schuyi was also invited as a special artist to perform at Porsche’s Panamera launch event in China, where Musical Instruments China magazine praised her performance for “creating a magnificent and vivid atmosphere with her exquisite and captivating piano playing.”

In 2024, she collaborated with Porsche once again at the Leipziger Opernball, where she performed a 20-minute piano solo and appeared as a special guest to present a Porsche Macan. Her captivating performance and charismatic presence attracted significant attention and coverage from major German news outlets, including Leipziger Volkszeitung and Porsche News. MDR’s Sachsenspiegel also featured an exclusive interview and special report on her (November 13, 2024).

She also performed a successful piano recital at the Besalú International Music Festival. Local media outlets Empordà and Olot TV featured interviews and reports about her performance (May 18, 2025).

Schuyi began her piano studies at the age of five with Professor Liu Jiatianze at the Shenyang Conservatory of Music. She later studied with Russian educator Yuri Anatolievich Drozdov. At the age of 14, she entered the Central Conservatory of Music, where she studied with Steinway Artist Professor Wang Chun.

She later continued her studies at the University of Music and Theatre Leipzig with Professor Christian Pohl, graduating with top honours and receiving the highest grade (1.0) for her Bachelor’s degree. She is currently continuing her Master’s studies with Professor Hubert Rutkowski, Head of the Piano Department at the University of Music and Theatre Hamburg.
