XINGZHOU RONG, violin

Xingzhou Rong, born in March 2000, has been under the tutelage of Ti Zhang, a famous and outstanding violin educator in China. For his special accomplishment, he has been selected for the Best of Best Top Innovative Talent Program.

Rong has travelled to Beijing, Harbin, Singapore and Belgium and performed in universities and concert halls. In 2016, he participated in touring performances in Germany, the Netherlands and other countries with China Youth Symphony Orchestra. He performed the benefit concert for Earth Fundraising Program to support education for children with disabilities. He has collaborated with renowned conductors, Xiaotang Xia and Xincao Li. In 2014, he performed as a soloist with China Philharmonic Orchestra.

He took first place in Schoenfeld International String Competition and third place in Ysaye International Music Competition. Rong was the second prize winner in Leonid Kogan International Competition for Young Violinists. He also won the first prizes in Singapore Violin Festival and Finland Sibelius Instrument Music Competition. He was awarded the Grand Prix “Crown of Stars” at Music and Stars Awards.

Rong has been instructed by the following masters: Joel Smirnoff, Boris Kuschnir, Michael Maciaszczyk, Adam Kostecki, Pinchas Zuckerman, and Dora Schwarzberg.
Midori Gotō commented that the sound he played was full of youthful power. Vengerov has praised that his sound is like an angel and that he is the most promising performer.
