XUESONG CAO, Accordion
Xuesong Cao serves as a dedicated lecturer in accordion at the Tianjin Conservatory of Music. As an accomplished young accordionist, she is also a soloist diploma of Germany’s prestigious Hochschule für Musik, Theater und Medien Hannover. Her academic and artistic pursuits have led her to train under the tutelage of eminent accordion virtuosos and pedagogues, namely Professor Wang Hongyu, Professor Wang Shusheng, and Professor Elsbeth Moser.
Dedicated to the performance and promotion of classical accordion chamber music, Cao Xuesong has organized numerous concerts and lectures worldwide, with performance tours spanning the globe. During her time in Germany, she received support from Germany’s Norddeutscher Rundfunk (NDR) and the “Junger Musiker für den Zukunft” (Young Musicians for the Future) program, leading to the recording of a CD that was broadcast on NDR’s music radio channel. The Badenische Neueste Nachrichten (BNN) praised her playing as “astonishingly beautiful.” She has premiered multiple works and performed at major international event opening ceremonies, including the Karlsruher Neue Musik Festival and the Tianjin May Music Festival.
Main Awards include: First Prize in the “Performer Category” at the 43rd Croatia International Accordion Competition; Third Place in the “Artist Category” and First Place in the “Ensemble Category” at the 4th China•Tianjin International Accordion Festival; Third Place in the “Artist Category” and First Place in the “Ensemble Category” at the 31st China•Harbin Summer International Accordion Art Week. She also serves as a regular judge for numerous international and domestic accordion competitions. As an educator, she has guided her students to win nearly 50 awards in various competitions both domestically and internationally.
