Award-Winning Pianist Tatiana Dorokhova Launches “Liebestod” with KNS Classical

KNS Classical is pleased to present Liebestod, an exceptional new album by Russian pianist Tatiana Dorokhova, an artist praised for her striking power, and magnetic stage presence. This release follows her Victory Award at the 2023 Carles & Sofia International Piano Competition, and captures a pianist who, in the words of Dina Yoffe, displays “an innate musical involvement and understanding” in every interpretation.

The program of Liebestod offers a dramatic arc built around opera transcriptions and symphonic literature arranged for solo piano. The album opens with Gluck’s “Melody” from Orfeo ed Euridice, in the elegant transcription by Sgambati, followed by Liszt’s powerful fantasies on Verdi’s Aida and Wagner’s Tristan und Isolde.

The second part of the recording is dedicated to Prokofiev’s complete Ten Pieces from Romeo and Juliet, Op. 75, a cycle that requires both narrative clarity and emotional range. From the freshness of Juliet as a Young Girl to the tragic lyricism of Romeo and Juliet before Parting, Dorokhova brings to each piece what composer Diana Rotaru described as “incredible strength and an extremely powerful stage presence, like a keyboard demon.”

With Liebestod, Tatiana Dorokhova confirms her place among the most compelling pianists of her generation, offering a recording that is both technically commanding and emotionally resonant.

Do not miss the exceptional “Liebestod”, now available on iTunes, Spotify, Amazon and YouTube.
