Hao Liu Unveils Poetic Visions, A Live Recording of Subtle Power and Refined Artistry

KNS Classical is pleased to announce the release of Poetic Visions, an exquisite live recording by exceptional pianist Hao Liu. Known for her deeply felt interpretations and natural sense of color, Liu offers a thoughtful program that moves seamlessly from Classical structure to Impressionist nuance and Romantic intensity.

This album invites listeners on a journey through three pillars of the piano repertoire: Beethoven’s Sonata Op. 110, Debussy’s Images (Book I), and Rachmaninoff’s Variations on a Theme of Corelli. Hao Liu’s performance of Beethoven reveals a contemplative voice within the sonata’s spiritual architecture, while her Debussy shimmers with clarity and sensitivity, revealing a painterly touch. In Rachmaninoff’s demanding set of variations, she brings both precision and emotional tension to the fore, crafting a dramatic arc that captivates from beginning to end.

Having performed across Asia, Europe and North America in major venues such as Shanghai Symphony Hall, Jordan Hall in Boston, Peabody’s Friedberg Hall, and TCU’s Van Cliburn Concert Hall, Hao Liu has steadily forged a reputation for musical sincerity and interpretive intelligence. She is currently pursuing her doctoral degree at USC Thornton School of Music, under the guidance of Jeffrey Kahane, and continues to refine her craft through mentorships with Arie Vardi and Michel Béroff.
