An accomplished performer and scholar, Yue Zhang has captivated audiences on prestigious stages from Carnegie Hall to the Sala Cecilia Meireles in Rio de Janeiro. With Ethereal Echoes, he demonstrates his artistry with a unique repertoire that spans the poetic landscapes of Chopin’s four Scherzos and Nocturnes, to evocative works by Xiaogang Ye, Zhuosheng Jin, and Yu-Hsien Teng.

The album opens with Falling Flowers by Xiaogang Ye, setting a tone of introspective lyricism, and continues through a graceful arc of Chinese and Western works, including Yue Serenade by Zhuosheng Jin and the evocative Autumn Moon over the Calm Lake. Chopin’s masterworks form the structural pillars of the recording, drawing out Zhang’s command of drama, delicacy and power.
