Review – “One is left wondering what form Nikita Lukinov’s gifts will take as he matures” (Gramophone)

KNS Classical is proud of Nikita Lukinov’s album “Kaleidoscope” receiving a stellar review in the Gramophone Magazine, signed by Patrick Rucker.

The review praises Nikita Lukinov, a young Russian pianist and KNS Classical Artist who is now teaching at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, for his recording “Kaleidoscope”, featuring an all-Russian program. The reviewer highlights Lukinov’s expressive and varied performance of Tchaikovsky’s Op 72 piano pieces, drawing comparisons to ballet-like qualities in the music.” as well as “His interpretation of Scriabin’s two Poèmes, which showcases clear-eyed and nuanced playing.”.

Rucker is amazed by the Prokofiev transcriptions from Cinderella which are noted for their dance-like quality and culminate in a powerful and beautiful performance. Lukinov’s exceptional technical skills, rhythmic sense, and musical perspective, combined with his imaginative approach, are lauded in the review.
