Carles & Sofia Launch the Second Version of Schubert’s Fantasy

On May 8th, 1989, Carles & Sofía performed for the first time Schubert’s Fantasy in F minor, at a concert in Blonay, Switzerland. As if it were a sign of the universe, the interpretation of fantasy by Carles and Sofía in 1989 was so heartfelt, dramatic and emotional, that they deserved the recognition of critics and the public, defining them as “four hands, one feeling “, the best compliment that can be given to a chamber duo.

 After 30 years of that first interpretation (1989)  and the first recording (2001), Carles & Sofia have decided to record a second version, launched on the same day of the first performance.

The CD also includes the Variations of Brahms on a theme by Haydn and the first worldwide recording of the poem “Don Quixotte” by Daniel Basomba.

Don Quixotte was commissioned and premiered by Carles & Sofía in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, in 2005, in a series of commemorative events for the 400th anniversary of the publication of Cervantes’Don Quixotte. The author has dedicated the work to the Catalan duo, who has interpreted it all over the world since then, with a great reception from the public and critics.
