“Dream”: Jeongro Park’s Personal Journey Through Piano and Transcription
Winner of the Domenico Scarlatti International Piano Competition, South Korean pianist Jeongro Park presents “Dream”, a recording that reflects both his artistry as a pianist and his distinctive voice as an arranger.
The programme brings together Beethoven’s late Six Bagatelles, Op. 126 and Rachmaninoff’s monumental Variations on a Theme of Chopin, Op. 22, framed by a series of transcriptions created by Park himself. From the Flower Song from Bizet’s Carmen and Korngold’s “Mein Sehnen, mein Wähnen” from Die tote Stadt to Rachmaninoff’s The Dream, these arrangements reveal a musician deeply connected to the world of opera, song and lyrical expression.
Alongside his career as a soloist, Jeongro Park has built a remarkable reputation as a chamber musician, Lied pianist and musical collaborator, performing throughout Europe and South Korea. His own arrangements have been featured at the renowned Rhein-Ruhr Piano Festival, and one has been published by the German publisher Schott, reflecting an artistic personality that extends beyond the traditional role of the concert pianist.
With Dream, Jeongro Park invites listeners into a programme shaped by memory, transformation and imagination, where original works and transcriptions coexist naturally, revealing the many dimensions of his musical identity.
Do not miss the opportunity to enjoy this exceptional recording, now available on iTunes, Spotify, Amazon and YouTube.
