The Unique Project “Left Hand” sees the light at KNS Classical

KNS Classical is proud to announce the release of “Left Hand,” an exceptional and unique CD by the talented Japanese pianist Kenichiro Kojima. Showcasing his unique ability to play piano with only his left hand, this album is a remarkable feat in the world of classical music.

Winner of the Victory Award at Carles & Sofia International Piano Competition in 2021, Kenichiro Kojima, who overcame the challenge of losing the function of his right hand, has transformed adversity into artistic triumph. “Left Hand” features a selection of pieces expertly written for left-hand performance, demonstrating Kojima’s virtuosity and emotional depth.

The CD includes profound works by Johann Sebastian Bach, Béla Bartók, Felix Blumenfeld, and Erwin Schulhoff. Standout pieces like Bach’s “Chaconne from Partita for Violin in D minor BWV 1004,” arranged by Johannes Brahms, and Blumenfeld’s “Etude for the Left Hand, in A-flat major, Op. 36” highlight Kojima’s brilliance and sensitive playing.

This release by KNS Classical is not only a testament to Kenichiro Kojima’s resilience and dedication but also a significant contribution to the piano repertoire.
